Gift School Market Day
Monday morning arrived, and thankfully, the rain stayed away! Our learners were ready for Market Day, and the school came alive as the children set up their stalls with tables, tablecloths, umbrellas, products and games.
The children did an amazing job and ran their stalls in a wonderfully professional manner. They welcomed visitors kindly, assisted customers with choosing products and explained their games and activities.
They also had the opportunity to practise their money skills by handling payments, working out prices and giving change.
But Market Day is about so much more than buying and selling. It is a wonderful opportunity for our learners to put their classroom learning into practice.
They develop communication, problem-solving, money-management, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills, while learning to take responsibility for their own stall.
